WordPress App is Pure Traveling Writer Mobile Office Awesomeness

20110706-100821.jpg If there’s one thing that I enjoy the most about writing for AppyHour, it is the fact that I can review apps and bring you the latest Mac news from anywhere. And the WordPress app makes it all possible.

It is one of my favorite, free and best office apps for iPad 2. Of course, it’s a free office app for iPhone as well.

Wether you’re on your iPhone or iPad, WordPress is a fully functionally mobile blogging platform that integrates seamlessly with your current blog that you have the WordPress files installed on. The only requirement is that you turn on the remote blogging feature in the settings on your dashboard. After that, simply download the iPhone or iPad app (or both in my case) and login with your current credentials.

You’re then presented with four different tabs on the WordPress app, which include:

Comments: This tab is broken down into two sections, including Pending Moderation for approving, marking as spam or editing as well as current approved comments. You can also tap the edit button for quick overall editing of multiple comments.

Posts & Pages: This tab allows you to quickly write a post, save it as a draft, pending or publish immediately. Within this tab, the WordPress app allows you to write your title, insert tags, select categories from your saved list as well as write your complete post. There is a quick publish tab in the upper right corner or you can click the gear looking tab to change status, visibility and schedule your post for publishing immediately or later. This section allows you to save locally on your iPad or iPhone or save as a draft on the server, which will then be visible from a web browser.

From this tab, you can also insert video and an image. Be warned that it only shows you the HTML markup. You can also click the eye tab to preview the post as it would appear online.

Stats: My favorite WordPress tab… because I’m a complete stats hound. Under this tab you can view daily, weekly and monthly stats in graph form. Underneath the graph, you can check on your daily views, most popular posts and top referrers.

Probably the best feature of the WordPress stats tab is the list of top search referrals, mine include best free apps for iPad 2, free apps for iPad 2, best free iPad 2 apps, best office app for iPad 2, iPad 2 free apps, free office for iPad 2, etc. Shows you how much I write about mobile office computing. Got to love the post-PC world.

For its pure mobile office awesomeness and robust features, the WordPress app gets a 10 out of 10 from AppyHour.tv. It’s a must have and I’d be happy to pay if needed, but luckily it’s a free app for iPad 2 and iPhone.
