Draw Something by OMGPOP is the latest app craze that is literally taking over the world and rightly so as the most popular social drawing and guessing game in the App Store is addictive and provides hours of fun. Yes, it’s a must buy.
Even when it started to get popular and was getting all the buzz, I tried ignoring it. Then my family showed up and at one point my nephew, niece, sister, wife and friend were all playing it in the front room. It was odd. And it wasn’t anti-social. It was actually quite interactive because we were all in the same room laughing, busting each other’s chops about being able to draw and we were just having fun. It was like family board game night, except the board game were our iPhones and Android devices and the game was Draw Something. Continue reading Draw Something by OMGPOP is Insanely Addictive App
As you may recall, we wrote about Asinine Poetry app developer Erich Wood’s newest project Jagimo! back in mid-June. Since then, we’ve had a chance to meet up with him in the AppyHour studio private bar. Ok, while it might not be our bar… Erich has a lot of great insight as to why they came up with the idea, how his designer thought of Japanese potatoes for the name and whether he likes waffles or pancakes. Yes, hardball interview questions I know. So sit back and enjoy. Don’t forget to check out Jagimo! here.
Update: Look out for more from Erich and co. as they have several enhancements they’re working on. News to come. Continue reading Let’s Jagimo! – An Interview with App Dev Erich Wood
Asinine Poetry app developer Erich Wood is working on an app that has a lot of Chatroulette-esque tendencies as far as the random people part, but “flings” photos instead of video to the socialsphere. Jagimo! The Social Mashup app is set to launch at the end of June and Wood’s idea seems to be right on queue for the evolution of photo apps.
Instagram does a really great job of sharing hipster-filtered photos with friends and random people, but I think where Jagimo’s potential could help it become a breakout app is its ability to take random photos and their captions and through a “handy translation feature” provide an instantaneous easy-to-read caption that the person who receives that random picture could add to and “fling” again. Tell a story through pictures or make funny captions, Jagimo aims to help you create spontaneous mashups with random people from around the world.
I’m definitely looking forward to this app and I’m sure I won’t be the only one. Video preview after the jump. Continue reading Jagimo! The Social Mashup Plays Like a Photo App Game
