iPhone 4s Unveiled by Apple in CupertinoToday Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook unveiled the new iPhone 4s. Against speculations of a new iPhone 5, the new iPhone 4S looks the same as the iPhone 4, but sports new guts and is a world phone. That’s right, GSM and CDMA in one phone. The new smartphone handset now has the dual core processor A5 chip. On stage, Mike Capps fro Epic Games, makers of Infinity Blade 2 showed off the power of the new chip. According to many in attendance, it was “awesome”.

The new iPhone 4S will be available for pre-order on October 7 and purchase October 14. The iPhone 4S will feature 8 hours of talk time on 3G, 14 hours on 2G, 6 hours of browsing, 9 hours on WiFi and features a new wireless system that intelligently switches between two antennas to transmit and receive.

The new iDevice can also download data 2x as fast and up to 14.4 mbps download, which is technically 4G according to Mashasble.

As for the camera, the iPhone 4 already set the bar for taking pics and posting just about everywhere. The new iPhone 4S camera will sport an 8 MP sensor, which is 3264×24487 and can print out 8×10 photos. This is 60% more pixels than in the iPhone 4 sensor, which is already a really great camera phone. The sensor is backside illuminated for capturing 73% more light and is 1/3 faster at capturing images. Improved F2.4 lens aperture and better white balance will undoubtedly allow for amazing images.

But wait, photos aren’t the only feature to get upgraded. Video is now 1080p with real-time image stabilization. Apparently, the video is pretty sweet.

The new phone can also handle AirPlay miring for presentations, games, etc.
