Asinine Poetry app developer Erich Wood is working on an app that has a lot of Chatroulette-esque tendencies as far as the random people part, but “flings” photos instead of video to the socialsphere. Jagimo! The Social Mashup app is set to launch at the end of June and Wood’s idea seems to be right on queue for the evolution of photo apps.
Instagram does a really great job of sharing hipster-filtered photos with friends and random people, but I think where Jagimo’s potential could help it become a breakout app is its ability to take random photos and their captions and through a “handy translation feature” provide an instantaneous easy-to-read caption that the person who receives that random picture could add to and “fling” again. Tell a story through pictures or make funny captions, Jagimo aims to help you create spontaneous mashups with random people from around the world.
I’m definitely looking forward to this app and I’m sure I won’t be the only one. Video preview after the jump.
