Antengo Reinvents the Classified Ad with New App for iOS

Antengo, a mobile marketplace for posting and discovering real-time local classified listings, is now available as an app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch on the App Store. Antengo is a reinvention of classified listings for mobile, making it easy for local communities and its members to post, browse and answer listings as well as connect with local buyers and sellers immediately. The new app allows users to browse classifieds via maps, visuals or written posts in 140 characters using the robust filter and search functionality.

“Today’s consumer is constantly on the go, and deserves classifieds that match their lifestyle. That’s what we have set out to achieve with Antengo,” said Marcus Wandell, Antengo’s co-founder and chief executive officer. “Our goal with this app is to connect people who have specific and immediate needs – whether its last-minute concert tickets, a place to live or a carpool buddy. As we continue to grow, the marketplace becomes even more exciting with valuable offers and opportunities.”

With the Antengo App, users can:

  • Post items or services for sale or extend community offers
  • Browse listings in a unique photo view or by keyword search
  • Call, text, email or use Antengo’s in-app instant messaging service to anonymously connect with buyers and sellers
  • “Send my new location” feature during messaging for quick coordination/meet-up
  • Automatically update their listing’s location to appear on the Antengo marketplace map

“According to comScore’s 2010 Mobile Year in Review report, classifieds are the second-fastest mobile growth category, only 1% behind social media,” said Andreas Penna, Former Strategy and M&A Executive at Microsoft and Vodafone Group and Antengo Angel Investor. “This stat is a direct indicator that there is a proven demand for Antengo and mobile shopping via the secondary market.”
