Writers have it and so do artists. The dreaded block of wit, creativity, inspiration and anything else that would help spark an idea, sentence or stroke of genius. One new tool for artists, drawers and doodlers that can help push them past this block is Color Patterns. The adult coloring app was developed to help you draw inspiration (pun intended) from the included dynamic design patterns and an expansive color palette.

MacPhun has over one million reasons to celebrate as their FX Photo Studio for iPhone, which went free last Thursday, hit the seven digit milestone on Sunday. To sweeten the pot, they’re making their FX Photo Studio for iPad (usually $1.99) free. But here’s the kicker. They’re making it free for the next 10 million downloads. That’s pretty cool.
The FX Photo Studio is an extremely useful and powerful collection of photo effects and filters. As some of you may know, I develop apps in addition to writing about them. My latest adventure is the free Clock Weather News app for iPhone, which features a retro flip clock front and center hovering over beautiful HD images that reflect the current weather. The weather portion at the top also includes an extended forecast.
I think the coolest aspect of the app is the RSS feed at the bottom. Now, it currently supports Google Reader, but an update is underway for when Google gets rid of their RSS service in July. I’m hoping the don’t.
But why use Google Reader you ask? It’s my drug of choice. Sure, there are plenty RSS readers out there, but Google’s has been my go-to for so long that I just want to enjoy every bit of it until they officially shut it down. From the amount of downloads I’m getting … I don’t think I’m the only one! Continue reading Free Clock Weather News App Features Retro Style Clock and Google Reader
Not again! You’re in your car waiting for an important call when you turn a corner and, Whoops! the phone slides into the crack and under your seat, out of reach. Is your center console so tangled with cords you can’t tell which one goes with which device? The solution is here: the Gap Pal ($29 Tablet Pals) fits elegantly into the crack next to your seat and keeps all your devices securely within reach, while also organizing cables and coins for the tollbooth. Taking your eyes off the road even for a second can lead to an accident, and the Gap Pal not only prevents items from slipping under the seat, but also helps drivers keep their attention focused on the road.
