Video Games Intelligence announced the launch of Independent’s Day, an afternoon of conference sessions and networking focused on indie mobile game development. The event will take place on May 13, prior to the start of its annual Mobile Gaming USA West conference in San Francisco on May 14-15.

The keynote speech will be given by Wilson Kriegel, the former chief revenue officer (CRO) of Draw Something creators OMGPOP. He currently serves as president of Paltalk, a leading provider of audio and video communications services. Free Clock Weather News App Features Retro Style Clock and Google Reader

free clock weather news app for iPhoneAs some of you may know, I develop apps in addition to writing about them. My latest adventure is the free Clock Weather News app for iPhone, which features a retro flip clock front and center hovering over beautiful HD images that reflect the current weather. The weather portion at the top also includes an extended forecast.

I think the coolest aspect of the app is the RSS feed at the bottom. Now, it currently supports Google Reader, but an update is underway for when Google gets rid of their RSS service in July. I’m hoping the don’t.

But why use Google Reader you ask? It’s my drug of choice. :) Sure, there are plenty RSS readers out there, but Google’s has been my go-to for so long that I just want to enjoy every bit of it until they officially shut it down.
